Dr. Lawrence Feingold came to the Faith after discovering Catholic culture through an art history class when studying sculpture at a mainstream, secular art school. Then he studied theology and now teaches at the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis. Because of his personal experiences he has a conviction that beauty in the context of the liturgy can bring people to the Faith and so has designed a course for the seminarians there. (He sent me the notes for this course and it is excellent.)
I mention Dr. Feingold’s books in passing in this interview: all are recommended reading. He is an original thinker pulling together the constitutions of the Second Vatican Council, the theology of St Thomas Aquinas and the leading figures of the Ressourcement figures, such as Benedict XVI, who wanted to highlight the thought of the Church Fathers.
